PRICING

How much does a cake cost? Three Sweeties is an entirely custom cake and cupcake company – and our prices reflect the unique nature of our creations. The number of servings, flavour and intricacy of the design will largely drive the price, but here are a few very broad prices (not including delivery and set up):

Cakes
Children's cakes start at $95 for an 8 inch cake (square or round). These are for simple one tier cakes. Eight inch cakes feed 12 to 15 people (view examples).

Custom edible image cakes start at $105 for an 8 inch cake (square or round). Custom edible image cakes larger than 8 inches are priced dependant on two sizes: of the image and of the cake.

3D cakes (such as Thomas the Tank Engine or our fire engine cake) start at $150.

Two-tier children's cakes start at $140.

If you need to serve a larger number of people, prices are costed on a per serve basis. You can expect to pay between $5 and $15 a serve depending on the level of complexity in the decoration.

Cupcake prices start at $3.50 per cupcake – this is for a customised cupcake with icing and simple decoration (silver balls, edible glitter).

Cupcakes with sugar flowers, butterflies, letters and other decorations are from $4 each. More complex cupcake designs are priced individually.

Edible image cupcakes are $5 each.

Mini cupcakes start at $2.50 each.

Discounts on cupcakes are available when you order more than 200 pieces.

Biscuits start at $6.50 each. Price is dependant on the size, amount of piping detail required, and if wrapping is required.

We can also make custom shape edible image cookies, which can be individually wrapped for your convenience.

POINTS TO CONSIDER WHEN ORDERING CAKES, CUPCAKES AND OTHER SWEETIES

When ordering cakes, cupcakes and other sweeties, there are questions that we will ask you about design and sizing. We recommend you try to answer these before your appointment:

How many guests will I have?

Do I need to cater to any special needs (vegans, coeliacs, etc.)? (read about non-allergen cakes and cupcakes)

Do I have a theme or ideas in mind? What are the colours of my event?

What flavours do I like? (read about flavours and icings)

Do I want any text on my cake (for example, name and date for a Christening)?

Do I have a budget? If you have a budget in mind, please let us know. We are happy to work with you to create something to meet your needs (read about pricing).

What flavours am I interested in? If you have a multi-tier cake, we can make each tier a different flavour. Cupcakes can also be ordered in more than one flavour.

Do I want to save the top tier to eat on our first anniversary?

Is the cake being served as a stand-alone dessert or as petites fours with coffee? This may affect your cake size, as petites fours servings are smaller than dessert servings.

Do I want a cake topper? Three Sweeties can design, make or source one for you if required.

Do I need my cake/cupcakes delivered? (read about delivery and set up)

 

WHEN TO ORDER/LAST MINUTE ORDERS

We do our best to help with last minute orders, but try to give us as much notice as possible to book in your cakes and cupcakes. Each order is hand made to exact customer specifications, so they often take several days, especially if flowers or figurines are part of the design. Because of our quality standards, we have to impose a limit on the number of orders we can take. Book early to avoid disappointments!

CAKES

Three Sweeties is pleased to offer the following services:

Original designs – Give us an idea of what you would like and let us do the designing for you. At our consultation we will discuss the answers to the points to consider when placing an order, and sketch out some designs for you to consider.

Design inspiration – Have a picture of one you have seen and you want something similar? Three Sweeties is happy to recreate that cake for you as best as we can.

Undecorated wedding cakes – If you want to add your own finishing touches, Three Sweeties will provide you with a freshly baked cake covered in white fondant and presented on a cake board. You can then add ribbons, flowers, toppers to create your masterpiece.

Naked birthday cakes – If you love decorating, but hate baking, tell us what size and flavour you want, and Three Sweeties will provide a freshly baked cake. Take it home and decorate to your heart's content... Nobody needs to know your baking secret!

Corporate cakes – Three Sweeties offers a variety of cakes and cupcakes for corporate events such as product launches and staff meeetings. Your design might include your company logo, a photo of your work mates or icing in the colours of your company. We do not offer morning tea cakes for monthly/weekly purchase.

Edible image cakes – Your favourite team logo, your local football team, a picture of a friend looking silly, a baby picture for a 21st... If you've got an image you want on your cake, Three Sweeties can make it happen for you. We do not sell the images by themselves.

 

CUPCAKES

Minimum order – Cupcakes carry a one dozen minimum order, but after that you can order in odd numbers if you like. Discounts are available on orders of more than 200 pieces.

Size – We have 2 sizes of cupcake – standard muffin size and mini. The mini is approximately 2 bites worth and the standard is about the size of a home-baked muffin (not a Texas muffin).

Delivery – We deliver cupcakes, but we do not ship them interstate or overseas (read about delivery and set up).

Cupcake stands – Three Sweeties offers a full cupcake stand hire service.

Corporate logos – Corporate logos can be placed on cupcakes in several different ways – on an edible icing (fondant) disk, white chocolate disk or directly with edible paper. You may also choose to have a mixture of different images – we can accommodate all edible imaging needs.

When ordering your cupcakes, you can choose:
Flavour – You can choose a selection of different flavours, but no more than 2 flavours per dozen
Colour of cupcake paper
Colour and type of icing
Decoration.

 

NON-ALLERGEN CAKES AND CUPCAKES

A range of egg, nut, dairy and some gluten free cakes are available for those with food sensitivities.

However, non-allergen cakes and cupcakes flavour choices are a bit limited. We are pleased to offer these flavours:

Egg, nut, dairy free dark chocolate (made with nut free cocoa powder)
Egg free carrot cake
Egg, dairy free vanilla (fruit flavours may be added to this)
Egg, nut, dairy free marble cake
Gluten free vanilla
Gluten free carrot and spice cake.

Important notice – Our kitchen is not 100% allergen free. Our standard cakes include fresh eggs, milk and other allergen products. Designs are a bit limited because the chocolate we use carries a nut warning and the sugar flowers are all made using egg albumen. There are no peanuts or peanut products on the premises. While every effort is made to ensure there is no cross-contamination, we make no guarantees about the safety of our products for those with food allergies. You are more than welcome to ask questions, come and visit the kitchen, and provide your own ingredients if you wish.

 

EDIBLE PARTY FAVOURS AND EDIBLE IMAGE TREATS

Send your guests home with their own little sweetie to remember your big day! See some examples of the sweeties we can make for you. We offer a range of biscuits that can be used as edible bonbonierre or place settings for parties.

Flavours – Choose from the following flavours:
* Shortbread – Butter, orange, lemon, Earl Grey, green tea
* Gingerbread

Presentation – All the biscuits can be made either on a stick (a cookie wand) or as is.

Shapes – You can also choose from a number of different shapes, from basic circles and flowers to letters of the alphabet and animals.

Decoration – Most biscuits can be personalised with guest names or information about the event.

Wrapping – We offer a complete service, with all your treats wrapped and ready to go. Choose your packaging and the ribbon for a fully custom experience.

We also offer a selection of edible image cookies, which can be individually wrapped for your convenience. These products are perfect for giving as a 'thank you' to clients or visitors to a conference stand. Please contact Three Sweeties for more information about these products.

 

FLAVOURS

All of our cakes are of the dense, moist variety, with the mud cakes being the most rich and fudgey. We do not make sponge cakes, continental cakes or cakes filled with fresh cream.

We are proud to say we only ever bake from fresh ingredients – no pre-mixes, no preservatives, nothing from a box. Just fresh, baked-to-order cake goodness!

Chocolate/Vanilla Marble Cake – The best of both worlds!

Classic Fruit Cake – Jam packed with dried fruit and alcohol, for the traditionalist in you.

Coconut Cake – Based on our butter cake but with loads of sweet coconut added.

Decadent Dark Chocolate Mud – The recipe starts with couverture chocolate and fresh butter melted together – a super rich, fudgey cake not for the faint-hearted!

Devil's Food Chocolate Cake – Dark and delicious, nobody ever stops at one slice. A customer favourite!

Lemon Syrup Cake – A luscious cake for lemon-lovers, speckled with lemon zest and enriched with buttermilk (try it with our Italian Meringue icing!).

Vanilla Butter Cake – This is a buttery, moist cake, far more dense than a sponge.

Rainbow-a-go-go – Only for those who want serious WOW-factor! The brightest, craziest, most insane rainbow cake you've ever seen. Based on our vanilla buttercake, it's the surprise inside which will give your guests a cake to remember.

White Chocolate and Raspberry – Our classic vanilla buttercake studded with whole raspberries and chunks of white chocolate.

White Chocolate Mud – An elegant but no less rich dark mud alternative.

You may choose to have your cake filled; we alternate layers of cake and filling for the ultimate in indulgent cake experiences. Filling choices include:

ICINGS

Three Sweeties's icings can be flavoured or coloured to meet your needs. Our most popular icings are:

Fondant – The classic covering for wedding cakes, gives a lovely smooth finish and can be coloured to suit.

Butter Cream – Great for kids' cakes; our standard flavour is vanilla; however, we have an endless array of flavours, including coffee, rosewater, lemon and vanilla bean.

Dark Chocolate Ganache – Sinful swirls of dark ganache complement everything from marble cakes to cupcakes.

White Chocolate Ganache – Creamy and sweet, this one is best on white chocolate mud and cupcakes.

Italian Meringue – A glossy marshmallowy icing, our meringue can be coloured, served as is or given a golden brulée finish.

DELIVERY AND SET UP

Delivery is available. Delivery to the Melbourne CBD and surrounds is $25. Inner suburbs are $25, and all other areas are quoted on request. Deliveries are done Monday to Saturday. Sunday deliveries are only available for large functions such as weddings.

We will come and set up your wedding cakes and cupcake towers. Deliveries which require set up are priced dependant on location ($75 at minimum).

Customers may choose to pick up cakes themselves at our Oakleigh kitchen (view location on Google Maps). If clients choose to pick up cakes, Three Sweeties is not liable for the condition of the cake once it arrives at the venue. A call-out fee will be charged if a client picks up a cake and then requires assistance in set-up or repair to damage done en route.

If Three Sweeties organises delivery, all liability ceases once the cake is delivered and set up at the venue. We prefer as much notice as possible for deliveries, and require a minimum notice of 48 hours.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payment can be rendered in the following ways:

Cash

Cheque – Cheques must be cleared before goods will be delivered.

EFT online – Please let us know if you do your banking online, and we'll email you our banking details. Please use your surname or company name as a reference. Payment must be received before goods will be delivered.

Credit cards – We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. All credit card transactions carry a 2% surcharge.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Deposit – A 50% deposit is required on call cakes over $100. A deposit may be required on cakes less than $100 if a specialty product is required.

Once the deposit has been paid, the quoted price remains fixed to the details listed in the quote. However, if changes are made, Three Sweeties reserves the right to amend the quote and re-submit it to the client for consideration. If in this case an agreement cannot be reached, then the normal cancellation terms apply.

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Balance is due 7 days prior to the event. Payment may be arranged on the day, but only by prior agreement with Three Sweeties.

Cancellations must be received in writing. If you cancel more than 4 weeks prior to the delivery date, the deposit will be refunded minus a $100 cancellation fee.

Cancellations received less than 4 weeks prior to the delivery date forfeit the entire amount of the deposit.

Regrettably, we cannot ship cakes or cupcakes.

Three Sweeties reserves the right to refuse service to any customer at any time.
